LASE

Laser physics and photonics

The Laser Physics group will further develop the existing research programs in ultra-intense and ultra-short pulse lasers, studies of laser plasmas, laser acceleration and particle production in connection with laser facilities like ELI Beam-lines, PALS and HiLASE. The group is also strongly involved in theory and simulation of laser plasma formation and evolution, in photonics and in optical spectroscopy. Laser physics and photonics are being dominantly studied at the FNSPE (http://kfe.fjfi.cvut.cz/kfe/en/research/index.html).

The LASE program’s work will be divided into five domains (sub-programs):

A) New active media and techniques for solid state lasers (Václav Kubeček)
B) Femtosecond laser interactions with targets (Jiří Limpouch)
C) Theoretical research into photonics and plasmonic structures (Ivan Richter)
D) Optoelectronics – photonics structures (Václav Prajzler)
E) Spectroscopy (Zdeněk Bryknar)

news from the program

The largest ICHEP2020 particle physics conference, which took place between July 28 and 6 August 2020, attracted over 3,000 particle physicists. Originally, the organizers expected that about a thousand of them would arrive in Prague, but due to the pandemic, the plans had to change and the conference moved to the online environment. In total, […]
